John Keirschbaum, father of George Keirschbaum, of this city, died Friday afternoon at 4:00 at his home on Sharon street, Shelby, after having been ill about a month.  Mr. Keirschbaum was a veteran of three wars, one of which was the great civil war and was while attending the national encampment of the G.A.R. at Cleveland in September that he was taken with the illness which resulted in his death.

He was born in Germany 83 years ago and came to the United States when he was about 20 years old.  He has been a resident of Shelby for more than 40 years and was well known and highly respected.  He leaves a wife and one son, George Keirschbaum, of this city.  He was a member of the G.A.R.  Funeral services at the Catholic church at Shelby Sunday afternoon at 2:00.
